FORGIVE AND BE FORGIVEN

ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT PRINCIPLES IN A CHRISTIAN'S LIFE!

It is a question many a person has asked at one stage or another in their lives. If not dealt with in accordance with God's Word it may have catastrophic

result for the person and those around him or her!

So what does The Word of God say?!

Matthew 6:14-15

For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

I want to forgive but I struggle?!

Sadly we are disappointed and hurt by people and sometimes extremely deep. To such an extent that it is nearly humanly impossible to do. But what is impossible for man is possible for God!

Luke 18:27

But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.

It is important to realise that healing and forgiveness go hand-in-hand!

Luke 4:18

The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He hath anointed Me to preach the Gospel to the poor. He hath sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

Repentance is a key

1 John 1: 9

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Always remember that harbouring forgiveness, bitterness and hatred is a sin! Sin needs to be confessed in order for us to receive God's forgiveness!

Another key is to receive

Mark 11:24

Therefore I say unto you, All things whatsoever ye pray and ask for, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.

When you pray, pray with the expectation that you will receive!

Prayer

Jesus my heart is broken because (describe what has been done) to me by (name the person). Heal my heart, emotions and body (where you have suffered physical harm). I forgive (name the person) for what he/she has done to me. I acknowledge God that I struggle to forgive! Please help me to truly forgive, I receive In Jesus name, amen!
