And the Greatest is...
1 Corinthians 13: 13
And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
This is not a fleshly love, this is the God-kind of love! How is this love different? Well look at its nature!
The nature of Godly love!
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.
It is clear that this kind of love goes against fleshly love. it will always desire the best for others. it is not out for revenge but rather to forgive!
This is not the type of love we are naturally born with. No, it is acquired. it comes from God and it is poured out into the hearts of those who desire it by The Holy Spirit!
Desire it and Ask for it
How do we get his type of love? First desire it and then Ask for it!
James 4:2-3
You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures.
Key: Make sure your motives are pure when you ask!
