When the Holy works in your heart, you cannot remain angry with a person

When the Holy Spirit works within our hearts, it often leads to a shift from bitterness and resentment toward forgiveness and peace.  Yielding to the Holy Spirit will allow us to let go of bitterness.

It is the Holy Spirit that can heal us of the underlying hurts that cause bitterness, preventing it from hardening our hearts.  Jesus paid the price so that we can be whole!   Jesus came into the world to bind the broken-hearted!

Luke 4:18-19

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord.”

The Power of Prayer:

It is hard to stay angry at someone you are consistently praying for, as prayer strengthens your relationship with God and protects your heart.

Dependence on Divine Strength:

Forgiving deep wounds is often too difficult to do alone; it requires depending on the power of the Holy Spirit to move past natural human reactions.

Managing Anger:

Don't Let the Sun Go Down: Scripture encourages acknowledging anger but not allowing it to fester or turn into sin, as the Bible clearly states: “do not let the sun go down while still angry.”

Avoid Footholds:

Unresolved anger can give the devil a "foothold" in a person's life, leading to unforgiveness, anger, and bitterness. Avoid this trap!

The Danger of Persistent Anger:

Persistence with anger will dull your spiritual senses and will diminish your sensitivity to God's presence and guidance. It will cause your conscience to be seared (1 Tim 4: 2). Remember that it is the Holy Spirit that convicts us and helps us to come to repentance.

The Poison of Unforgiveness:

Withholding forgiveness keeps the heart bound to past pain.   It blocks your prayers from being answered and puts you in a spiritual jail.

Matthew 6:12-14

“And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive them that trespass

against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever.

Amen.  For if you forgive others their trespasses,

your heavenly Father will also forgive you.”

The Way out:

The way out is to let go of your anger, to confess your sin to God (when your anger has turned into sin), and to forgive your brother or sister who has harmed you.

IF you struggle, ask God to help you!  Your willingness and obedience to God's word will enable the power of the Holy Spirit to work it out in your life!
